The Trials of BINA48

This film documents two complete mock trial hearings that explore the legal rights and responsibilities of an intelligent, conscious computer.

The first mock trial deals with a motion for a preliminary injunction of BINA48 (aka the Intelligent Computer) to prevent discontinuance of power and functionality by the fictional Exabit Corporation. The second trial explores legal accountability via a civil suit against BINA48 for copyright and patent infringement.

This film documents the second Workshop on Geoethical Nanotechnology. The workshops are intended to provide the public with informed perspectives regarding geoethical nanotechnology via expert presentations, challenges and discussions.

Among the featured experts are a Nobel laureate, Dr. Barach Blumberg, and a best-selling author, Ray Kurzweil.

The film is based on the New York Times Best-Selling book by Ray Kurzweil. The film stars Pauley Perrette and is directed by Anthony Waller, Toshi Hoo, and Ray Kurzweil.
